I graduated in 1971 from Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan, but my career with law firms actually began in 1970. My skills as a legal secretary were honed at a Southfield law firm where tax, family law and estate planning were the main areas of practice. I then spent 11 years at a law firm in Troy concentrating in workers’ compensation defense and the next 18 years at Bassey and Selesko PLC where estate, business and tax planning were again my main focus.
I have assisted attorneys and their clients in many levels of the legal practice including interviewing clients, follow-up communications, preparation of and filing of legal documents. I also assist in drafting documents such as Wills, Trusts, Medical Directives and Powers of Attorney. I may be unique in today’s world as I am still proficient in the lost art of shorthand. I became a part of Gaggos Law Firm, P.C., in 2009 working directly with my husband, Dennis Modzelewski. I enjoy assisting our clients on a very personal level to help them achieve their legal goals. My interactions with clients allow me to answer many of their questions or concerns regarding their estate plan, the status of their cases and the explanation of documents and procedures in a down-to-earth manner. Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family, which often includes babysitting for my grandchildren, and planning and hosting family parties. I also play tennis, practice yoga and group exercise, and love gardening.
