I graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn, Michigan in 1969 and from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1973. I was an Internal Revenue Agent and conducted tax audits of individuals and businesses for three years, during which time I received my CPA license. In 1979, I graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, cum laude (with honors). During law school, I won the oral appellate argument competition, was a member of the Law Review, and was elected a Law School senator for the Student Government Association. I also served as a student intern in an honors program in the Federal U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh.
I returned to Michigan and was a shareholder and member of the law firm of Bassey and Selesko PLC, for 29 years, concentrating on federal and state controversies, estate planning and administration, business planning, real estate and elder law. I have been recognized in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Registration of Pre-Eminent Lawyers comprising of attorneys who have earned the AV Peer Reviewing for the highest levels of professional skill and integrity. I joined Gaggos Law Firm, P.C. as a partner in 2009 to continue the practice of law in the areas of my expertise. I have been admitted to practice before the courts of Michigan, the United State District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, as well as the U.S. Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims. I am a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Member: Probate, Tax and Elder Law) and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. I am married and have two step-daughters and several grandchildren. I enjoy gardening, tennis, golf, creative writing and experimenting as an amateur vintner. |
